Brazilian butt augmentation is a surgical procedure that changes the contour of your buttocks to obtain a fuller, shapely, youthful buttock. The procedure involves the transfer of fat cells from parts of your own body to certain areas of the buttocks to create the desired outcome.
Fat grafting, also referred to as fat transfer or fat injections, is the surgical process by which fat is transferred from one area of the body to another area. The surgical goal is to improve or augment the area where the fat is injected.
Brazilian butt augmentation is recommended for healthy individuals with buttocks that are small, flat, asymmetrical, sagging or have lost their shape after massive weight loss.
The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis. The area to be treated is first anesthetized with a special fluid that also helps control bleeding and facilitates fat extraction. Your surgeon then suctions fat from your neck, arms, chest, back, thighs, hips or abdomen (liposuction) through a small cannula (blunt tube). The fat obtained is then processed and purified to derive ideal fat cells for the procedure. These fat cells are drawn into syringes and injected through cannulas at precise locations and at various depths in the upper buttocks, giving them a perky appearance. Liposuction may be performed on surrounding areas to make the buttocks appear more prominent.
It takes several weeks to fully appreciate the results of a Brazilian butt augmentation, but it is usually long lasting.
